Thistle is a mini art quilt 8 X 8 inches square. It's created using both stitch and needle felting.
The quilt is an exploration of geometric design. It's title, Thistle, is inspired by a subtle disruptive line near the top of the quilt.
Does an imperfection spoil beauty or can the disruption enhance it?
For the thistle plant, spiny prickles are a warning, perhaps disturbing and also part of it's beauty.
In art, the idea of a disruptive line disturbing expectations and possibly adding to the dialogue around beauty is thought provoking.
