Dickens' Goose is a mixed media art quilt, 14 X 14 inches. The fabrics in this quilt are dyed, painted, printed and inked.
In the center is a newspaper article by Charles Dickens published December 1, 1860 about his work, Great Expectations. The news article is a mirror image print, so it's in reverse. In front of the newspaper is a little goose, hand drawn onto fabric for a sketchy feel. The main body of the quilt is stitched together with machine sewing and further embellished with hand stitching. It's a collage in fabric and stitch.
