This stitched collage, a mix of vintage and newer fabric, is inspired by the red-winged blackbird.
The bird, in a dark sheer, is appliqued onto a background of two pieces of vintage fabric. Details in free-motion and hand embroidery add color and texture. A few beads also bring the stitched collage to life. As a final touch, ribbons and yarn are added at the top so the fabric collage can be hung on a door or wall.
