Fluffy Baby Bird Painting

Part of the series a little bird told me, this painting, titled Sanguine Bird, shows a calm and self assured baby bird. The word sanguine has two meanings, referring both to the bird's color and also to the little bird's optimistic temperament. 

It's the fourteenth painting in the series, and this baby bird has the fuzziest set of feathers to date. The fluffy feathery feel was created using mixed media including acrylic paint, pastel and conté. The mixing of the media helped to incorporate soft and hard lines for the fluffy feathery look of the sweetest baby bird.
